I’m an advocate of remaking movies that stunk, since they – rather than films that were successful the first time around – are the ones most in need of reworking. Thus, I had high hopes for an updated version of 1979’s The Amityville Horror, which I found disappointingly mediocre.
Oh well. I should have known better.

2 Words: Ryan Reynolds . . . or rather, Van Wilder. This guy has as much bad taste in movie choices (Wilder, Blade Trinity, Amityville) as he does in women (Alanis Morrisette). (cringe)
Oh man, be careful! Cath LOVES Ryan Reynolds – so much so, in fact, that we just watched Blade: Trinity last night despite my negative feelings about the film. And I gotta say, he’s still the best part of that otherwise-lame movie.
Although she too thought he was terrible in Amityville.
