Prepare for Punishment

I enjoyed Spider-Man, and I know I’m the only person in the country who really liked The Hulk, but man, what is Marvel doing? Daredevil was a joke, and the new version of The Punisher is so disastrous, it makes the 1989 Dolph Lundgren version look good. My review at Slant magazine details the wreckage.

  1. Anything with Hasselhoff is worth remembering.
And then, of course, there’s the classic 1991 version of Captain America. Unfortunately, the imdb page has no picture of the cheesy box cover….

  2. Actually, there is a Fantastic Four movie floating around that was so bad that it never got released. It’s now worth some ridiculous amount at Comic book conventions and Ebay . . . not that I frequent those sort of things.
They should have never put out the Captain America movie. Wow . . . was that awful.

  3. The FF movie was at best painful. I only saw part of it in the Marvel bullpen but that was enough. Also the guy who played Reed was walking around the office with The Thing’s head like it was a trophy and he was proud of the flick. HA!
That said… The Punisher was fine, S.H.I.E.L.D. was the worst TV flick that I absolutely loved(I’ve seen it 3 times) and Captain America had me in tears the whole time. Who remembers Dr. Strange or the 70’s Justice league movie(Legends of the SuperHeroes). All I can say is Ghetto Man… look it up.
    Peace
